The essentials

What is Valley Ventures Academy?

Valley Ventures Academy (VVA) is a venture capital and NIL investing education platform built for college student-athletes. It teaches the mechanics of how VCs evaluate deals, build portfolios, and make investment decisions, then connects that directly to the skills athletes already have.

Who is VVA for?

VVA is built for current and recently graduated student-athletes who want to learn more about venture capital and invest their NIL earnings.

What does it cost, and what does access include?

For $200, you get access to the Valley Ventures Academy platform and investment opportunities. Registration is open for the first four weeks of each season. If you miss the registration window, you will automatically be placed in the next season.

How much time does the curriculum take?

The curriculum primarily consists of self-paced video modules designed to be viewed in small chunks. Each module takes no more than one or two hours to complete.

What are Cardinal Dollars?

Cardinal Dollars is VVA's built-in currency for the investment simulator. You earn it as you complete learning modules, then use it to manage a simulated fund and make investment decisions using what you are learning.

What does “knowledgeable employee” mean?

Once you have been enrolled on the Valley Ventures Academy platform for a year, you will legally be deemed a “knowledgeable employee.” This title gives you clearance to invest your own capital into Venture deals without having to be an accredited investor, a process that normally requires individuals to have a net worth of over $1 million and to be earning at $200,000 a year.
